What should I check before signing a contract?
Before signing, make sure the document matches the deal you think you are accepting—especially the money, duration, exit terms and obligations.
Find the terms that can cost you
Read the price, fees, payment timing, deposits, automatic renewal, cancellation or termination process, notice periods and any early-exit costs. Check what happens if prices, scope or other terms change.
Check both sides' obligations
Look for what the supplier must provide, what you must do, deadlines, warranties or guarantees described in the document, dispute processes and clauses dealing with delays or variations. Ask for unclear promises made verbally to be reflected appropriately in writing.
Do not sign around missing information
Blank spaces, unclear attachments, missing schedules or references to documents you have not received are reasons to stop and clarify. Verify First can turn supplied wording into a plain-English review and questions to ask, but it is not legal advice and does not determine enforceability.
Verify First can assess the evidence you provide and highlight risk signals and things that still need independent verification. It does not guarantee that a person, business, payment or document is safe or fraudulent.
